This is my first blog and it has just come to the end of the season so i shall just tell you about some of my achievements for the season 09/10.
it was a good first Senior Season, a lot has changed now that I am not a Junior(u18) anymore, there are fewer tournaments, so I have entering more National Grand Prix's which are senior and U21 tournaments located all around the country. I managed to win U21 titles at the London, Cardiff, Blackpool and Wolverhampton Grand Prix's and the rest I played in I reached semi finals, as a result of this I won the Overall Grand Prix Points table for U21s for the season and came 2nd in the standings for the Women's Singles.
In March I competed in the English National Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield where I had a very successful tournament. On the Friday I won the U21 National Singles Titles for the 2nd year running where i was the 3rd seed. I then went on to get to the Semi-Final of the Womens Singles staged on the Sunday beating a further higher-ranked seed to reach this stage, eventually losing tot he overall winner. Me and my mixed doubles partner just lost out in the Q/F of the Mixed Doubles and my partner and I for the Women's Doubles reached the Final, losing out to the top seeds.
I also competed in the Women's British League where I represented Draycott and Longeaton Table Tennis Club, after 2 weekends, our team finished 2nd in the Premier Division, and I finished top of the Averages winning 18/20 matches.
My highest ranking for this season was Number 3 in the Senior Womens and number 1 U21 which is my best ranking to date. I have now been narrowed down onto the shortlist for the Commonweath Games in Delhi October 2010, but now the season has ended so I have no more competetions until I play in the first grand prix of the new season which is in late August in Liverpool. I will also be starting univeristy in September so I am unsure yet how I am going to balance my training and academic work but I am hoping it will have no effect on my progress.
